Today’s bonus episode is my sit-down conversation with Carol Roth. Carol describes herself as a “recovering” investment banker. She is the author of, “The War on Small Business,” is the New York Times bestselling author of, “The Entrepreneur Equation," and her latest book is called, “You Will Own Nothing.” She has worked in a variety of capacities across industries, including currently as an outsourced CCO, as a director on public and private company boards and as a strategic advisor. She advocates for small business, small government and big hair.
Having heard Carol on my buddy Dennis Kneale’s show, “What’s Bugging Me,” and numerous times on The Glenn Beck Program, it was a thrill to be able to chat with her about how she first got into investment banking. We then roll right into the fiscal turmoil happening in our nation. We cover several topics in a conversational way, from knowing our government is intentionally lying to us about the economic numbers, to the BRICS movement and how best to prepare for when the economy goes sideways. We also get into the health of the banking sector, will ESG and DEI start to go away as companies continue to lose money and some of the staggering information from the latest jobs numbers.
We then close the conversation with a discussion about her latest book, “You Will Own Nothing.” The book is not advocating for you to own nothing, but a sardonic take on how to stop the World Economic Forum from making that a reality. It’s a warning that if we continue to ignore this issue, we may suddenly find ourselves truly owning nothing. Her book is meant to show how we got to this point and then how we can push back to make sure we never allow that to happen.
