The Alan Sanders Show

Feb 24, 2022

In this episode, I open with the start of Russia’s incursion into Ukraine. There is no way to avoid the headlines, but we need to temper the fear. At this point, I don’t see how this leads to WWIII. There is no treaty between NATO and Ukraine. There is no obligation for our country or any other NATO country to rush to the physical defense of Ukraine. As harsh as that sounds, it’s the truth.

What we need to recognize is how weakness emboldens tyrants to act. President Biden made it his mission to reverse every policy or Executive Order President Trump had put into place. His thinking was Donald Trump is a bad person, which means everything he did was bad. If that’s the case, simply reverse everything and all will be right with the world.

There is a problem with that kind of Kindergarten view of the world. It’s cool to believe rainbows are bridges and unicorns exist, but beliefs are not the same as truths. They may feel real in your mind, but that does make them exist.

The Biden Administration stopped development on the Keystone pipeline, allowed Russia to get back to work on it’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline, put stops on frakking and drilling and now we are shocked energy costs are going through the roof. We took an energy independent status from the last Administration and put us dependent on foreign sources of oil – including Russia. In a way, we helped fund Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. And now the answer is to put sanctions in place? All that’s going to do is make it even more expensive for us to purchase oil to help our own country.

The Leftist policies and thinking have put us on the losing end of the equation. Russia may feel a little pinch with sanctions, but will more than recoup that with the resources they acquire in Ukraine. Weak, ineffectual, child-like thinking is how we got in this position and it’s not going away anytime soon.

This same thinking is why Covid has been going on for two years. The parallels are unmistakable. From masks to mandates to the one-size-fits-all vaccine mentality has put most of the Western world in a position of weakness and fear. It has created tumultuous harm across our financial, educational and economic landscape.

Strong leaders can sometimes appear brash or cold, but you cannot protect people through weakness. Looking for emotional solutions to real-world problems is akin to the quixotic notion of tilting at windmills. Just because you believe it’s real, doesn’t make it so. Facts and truth are what is needed to solve problems, not emotional band-aids for brain boo-boos.
