In today’s episode, I open with something President Biden is seriously trying to do – forgive college debt for many who still own loans for their higher education. This is a terrible idea. First, there is no such thing as magically making the debt go away. Someone is going to be stuck with the bill.
Several years ago, I wrote a blog piece about why it is important for children to experience adversity. I’m not suggesting abuse, but letting kids learn how to deal with things like being picked last, told they aren’t the best singer or athlete, that they didn’t make the honor roll, or getting their feelings hurt. We don’t need to bubble-wrap and insulate our kids from every possible thing that might make them feel sad or disappointed. Kids are resilient and bounce back so much faster than adults, assuming they are allowed to experience the downside of what happens in life.
Life isn’t fair. We all know that. But, when we don’t let children learn that lesson early, they won’t have the mental health toolbox they need to handle bigger and tougher issues later in life. By absolving them of the debts they knowingly incurred for careers that are not going to give them the income they need to pay it back timely, they will be even more psychologically stunted. They will have no sense of what it means to be accountable to themselves and to others. They will understand they are dependent on the government – on the elites – for everything in their lives.
It’s obvious the White House is desperate for votes this mid-terms and they want to buy them from those in college debt. This is compounded by the latest polling showing the 18-29 age range has had a precipitous drop in favorability polling since a year ago, dropping from 59% approval to only 41% in a Harvard poll. Joe Biden wants to buy their love like an absentee parent.
There’s also something else we need to keep in mind. The Hunter Biden laptop story is still happening. We may have been distracted with the Libs of Tik Tok doxxing and Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, but those pale in comparison to what more and more looks like a compromised president. New information this week shows just one of Hunter’s business partners had multiple meetings with Joe Biden and many of his staff. There is no way Joe Biden was not involved. The House Oversight Committee is continuing to press it’s investigation and if the midterms give the GOP back the House and maybe even the Senate, those investigations are not going to get swept under the carpet.
This administration has managed to hurt our economy and our standing on the world stage faster than any I’ve seen in my lifetime, and that’s considering I grew up in the Jimmy Carter era. The radical, woke, America last agenda has us on a very dangerous road and we need to make sure it’s halted this November.
