The Alan Sanders Show

Jun 3, 2022

In today’s episode, I open with more lies and false rhetoric from our dear Commander-in-Chief related to the Democrats desire to infringed on the Second Amendment. Much like his oft stated lie about the Founding Father’s wanting limits on rights, he tripled down on the last time there was a ban on scary-looking semi-automatic rifles. From 1994-2004, several models, such as the AR-15 and AK-47 were banned for public purchase. At the end of the 10 year moratorium, the Department of Justice commissioned a study on the effectiveness of the ban. Their conclusion? “We cannot clearly credit the ban with any of the nation’s recent drop in gun violence.”

You see, those particular weapons only accounted for 8% of all the violent crimes committed with other weapons. Rifles have always been far down the list of weapons used in committing violent crime. Hand guns, blunt instruments, fists and kicking are always higher on the list than any long barreled rifle.

What’s scary are how many of these emotionally charged and mentally inept Democrats have no real knowledge of guns or an understanding of terminology. Representative Mondaire Jones (D-NY) let us know exactly their plan. He threatened Congress that Democrats were going to pass gun control and will not be stopped. He said they would remove the filibuster if that gets in the way. He said they would pack the Supreme Court if they try to stop them. He said they are committed to taking weapons of war out of their communities.

Here’s another problem. What is a “weapon of war?” Thankfully, a reporter caught up with him and asked for clarification. When she asked him if he meant semi-automatic rifles and pistols, he said, “Yes. Any semi-automatic weapon.” When pressed about how that definition would mean virtually all handguns, he stammered and seemed confused, saying it didn’t mean handguns. It’s extraordinary to see the lack of basic knowledge in the hands of an irrational law-maker, bent on getting his way no matter what.

I then move on to tackle another red-herring from the President, saying gun manufacturers should have their liability shield removed. That makes no sense. Plus, when he says they are the only industry with such protection, I guess he isn’t aware of the companies Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. The idea we would sue the maker of a product for how an individual chooses to use it is beyond infantile. We don’t sue the car maker for the drunk driving accident. We don’t sue the baseball bat company for a bludgeoning. It’s emotional lunacy made worse by being in a position of power.

Finally, or beloved new Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was grilled about the infant formula crisis. She dances and weaves and uses a lot of words, but fails to ever answer the question. What’s nice is how reporters are already tiring of the act and continue to press her for actual answers, not tap-dancing demonstrations.
