The Alan Sanders Show

May 23, 2022

In today’s episode we have to come to the conclusion President Joe Biden and the Biden Administration are lying to us about wanting to reduce the cost of energy in our country. There is no other way to interpret their words versus their actions. I’ll say it again for emphasis, they are lying about reducing energy prices.

How many times have we heard the president and his administration use the words, “Doing all we can to increase supply and lower the cost”? Just a few weeks ago, Biden took credit for a slight dip in prices when he announced a release from the strategic oil reserve. He failed to add the dip immediately went back up and has given us (at this time) 11 straight days of record average prices. At that same gathering, Biden announced even more to be pulled from the reserve and he expects that to bring the price down from $.10 to $.35 a gallon. Well, whoop-dee-doo given we are hearing prices expected to rise to as high as $6.00 a gallon by August.

And while Joe Biden is promising lower prices, his own Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm was on the Sunday talk circuit and specifically said gas prices are going to keep rising and will stay above $4/gallon for the rest of the year. Seems as if the President and his Energy Secretary are not on the same page.

Late last week, in a Senate hearing, Secretary of the Interior Deb Halaand made a fool of herself repeatedly. However, what is evident is the Interior Department has not desire to increase production of anything related to fossil fuels. When confronted by Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) with all of the measures meant to stop production, she had no response. Secretary of Energy Granholm was also there and outright lied about wanting to increase production and even got called out by Senator Sullivan.

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) produced a memo from the Department of the Interior expressly stating it’s intentions of no new drilling and no new leases. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) asked a question we have asked here multiple times, who do you trust more to drill in an economically friendly way – the US or Venezuela. In fact, is there any OPEC nation with higher regard for safety and environmental protection than the United States? Secretary Halaand’s only response is she’s not an economist. I’m not making that up, folks.

On top of that, Joe Biden, just yesterday, also plans to beg OPEC for more production. Rather than help American energy employees, thereby helping Americans, our president is groveling before countries with some of the worst human rights abuses on our planet. And if you really are a Man-Made Climate change parishioner, be honest with yourself...why is going to OPEC better for the planet than to trusting the United States? After all, it is called “GLOBAL” climate change, right?

It’s time to realize, even if you are a democrat at heart, this party has left you behind a long time ago. They have been taken over by a radical Marxist-Socialist philosophy and that puts American last in every single category. Remember, this is exactly what Joe Biden ran on before he was elected. This should not be a surprise, even though it sure hurts the majority of us every single day.
